Flax Yarn Price in France (CIF) - 2023

The average flax yarn import price stood at $7,171 per ton in July 2023, reducing by -28.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a slight setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 55% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $9,977 per ton, and then reduced markedly in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Tunisia ($27,212 per ton), while the price for Lithuania ($3,165 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Tunisia (+7.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average flax yarn export price amounted to $8,876 per ton, growing by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 14% against the previous year.
