The average fishing rods import price stood at $12,409 per ton in 2022, falling by -33.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, posted modest growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 120% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $31,724 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($33,576 per ton), while the price for China totaled $9,070 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+33.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, imports of fishing rodses into Qatar fell sharply to 19 tons, declining by -18% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 163% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 23 tons, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, fishing rods imports declined remarkably to $234K in 2022. In general, imports showed a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 111% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $429K, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
