The average ferro-alloys; ferro-nickel export price stood at $6,548 per ton in March 2023, stabilizing at the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 17% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $9,439 per ton in March 2022; however, from April 2022 to March 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In March 2023, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($6,715 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($6,045 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2022 to March 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
