In August 2023, the average ethylene oxide export price amounted to $10,953 per ton, with a decrease of -10.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, posted mild growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 117% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $25,291 per ton. From May 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was India ($62,541 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($1,216 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mexico (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
