Ether Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average ether import price amounted to $1,128 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a perceptible reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 9.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $1,845 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($7,640 per ton), while the price for Iran ($736 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+13.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Ether Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
The average ether export price stood at $2,142 per ton in July 2023, declining by -8.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a slight descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 an increase of 16% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $2,530 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Iran ($4,910 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($911 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iran (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Ether Imports in Turkey
Ether imports into Turkey skyrocketed to 342K tons in 2022, growing by 34% compared with the previous year. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +18.1% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +64.9% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, ether imports skyrocketed to $473M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 89% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Ether Exports in Turkey
For the fourth consecutive year, Turkey recorded growth in overseas shipments of ethers, which increased by 22% to 21K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a significant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +20.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +73.5% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 32%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
In value terms, ether exports soared to $49M in 2022. Overall, exports showed a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 65%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
