The average ester gums import price stood at $1,980 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -9.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a mild curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 19%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $2,856 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($4,055 per ton), while the price for New Zealand ($1,363 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years.
