Derivatives of Hydrocarbons Price in Norway (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average derivatives of hydrocarbons import price amounted to $3,012 per ton, picking up by 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 108%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $11,409 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($16,012 per ton), while the price for India ($376 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Derivatives of Hydrocarbons Price in Norway (FOB) - 2022

The average derivatives of hydrocarbons export price stood at $22,900 per ton in 2022, surging by 368% against the previous year. In general, the export price posted a significant expansion. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Poland.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Sweden amounted to -3.3% per year.

Derivatives of Hydrocarbons Imports in Norway

In 2022, supplies from abroad of derivatives of hydrocarbons other than containing only sulpho-, nitro-, or nitroso groups decreased by -62.6% to 14 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 169% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 38 tons, and then dropped notably in the following year.

In value terms, derivatives of hydrocarbons imports reduced rapidly to $42K in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 137%.

In value terms, derivatives of hydrocarbons exports shrank markedly to $229 in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a dramatic shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 30%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $41K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
