Cotton Table Linen Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average cotton table linen export price amounted to $10,915 per ton, rising by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $12,425 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Libya ($17,986 per ton), while the average price for exports to Georgia ($3,988 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average cotton table linen import price stood at $12,115 per ton in September 2023, reducing by -23.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 an increase of 170% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $16,517 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Portugal ($19,790 per ton), while the price for Bangladesh ($7,858 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+1,434.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, cotton table linen exports from Turkey amounted to 1.2K tons, growing by 4.4% against the previous year's figure. Overall, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, cotton table linen exports soared to $13M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 27% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of table linen of cotton decreased by -14% to 65 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 66% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 105 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, cotton table linen imports reduced to $686K in 2022. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 26% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $879K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
