Copper Wire Price in Ukraine (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average copper wire export price amounted to $8,956 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, copper wire export price increased by +39.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($10,397 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($5,060 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+14.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average copper wire import price stood at $9,058 per ton in August 2023, approximately mirroring the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 an increase of 94% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $15,990 per ton. From November 2022 to August 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($9,238 per ton), while the price for Uzbekistan ($8,910 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+0.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Copper Wire Exports in Ukraine

In 2022, the amount of copper wires exported from Ukraine declined rapidly to 1K tons, waning by -83.1% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a dramatic curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 125% against the previous year.
