Copper Wire Price in Indonesia (FOB) - 2022

The average copper wire export price stood at $10,098 per ton in March 2022, flattening at the previous month. Over the period from March 2021 to March 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3%. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2021 when the average export price increased by 6.5% m-o-m. The export price peaked in March 2022.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In March 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices to the Philippines ($10,417 per ton) and Thailand ($10,366 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh ($8,962 per ton) and Singapore ($9,816 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average copper wire import price stood at $7,096 per ton in March 2022, picking up by 27% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $9,542 per ton in June 2021; however, from July 2021 to March 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($14,578 per ton), while the price for China ($2,432 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
