The average copper wire import price stood at $9,246 per ton in August 2023, dropping by -2.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a modest expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 7.9% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $9,972 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Italy ($11,560 per ton) and North Macedonia ($9,301 per ton), while the price for Angola ($8,368 per ton) and Turkey ($9,278 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
