Concrete Reinforcing Bar Price in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022

The average concrete reinforcing bar import price stood at $1,078 per ton in March 2022, with a decrease of -2.3% against the previous month. Over the period from March 2021 to March 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2021 an increase of 17% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $1,114 per ton in September 2021; afterwards, it flattened through to March 2022.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Japan ($1,246 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($699 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Concrete Reinforcing Bar Price in Indonesia (FOB) - 2022

In March 2022, the average concrete reinforcing bar export price amounted to $769 per ton, leveling off at the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2021 when the average export price increased by 11% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $801 per ton in December 2021; however, from January 2022 to March 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Thailand ($882 per ton), while the average price for exports to Timor-Leste ($552 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Concrete Reinforcing Bar Imports in Indonesia

In 2022, approx. 105K tons of concrete reinforcing bars were imported into Indonesia; jumping by 33% against 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 42%.

In value terms, concrete reinforcing bar imports surged to $101M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 64%.

Concrete Reinforcing Bar Exports in Indonesia

In 2022, approx. 11K tons of concrete reinforcing bars were exported from Indonesia; dropping by -82.3% against 2021. Over the period under review, exports showed a dramatic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 77% against the previous year.

In value terms, concrete reinforcing bar exports shrank remarkably to $8.4M in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a significant decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 160% against the previous year.
