Commercial Printing Price in Ukraine (CIF) - 2023

In July 2023, the average commercial printing import price amounted to $6,998 per ton, with an increase of 6.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 an increase of 612% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $43,918 per ton. From November 2022 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($13,901 per ton), while the price for Greece ($3,266 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Commercial Printing Price in Ukraine (FOB) - 2022

The average commercial printing export price stood at $6,484 per ton in 2022, jumping by 32% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a slight expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, commercial printing export price increased by +48.8% against 2020 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Armenia ($13,020 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($3,353 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Georgia (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Commercial Printing Imports in Ukraine

Commercial printing imports into Ukraine declined significantly to 6.4K tons in 2022, falling by -37.2% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, imports saw a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 12% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 10K tons, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

In value terms, commercial printing imports reduced remarkably to $54M in 2022. In general, imports saw a mild contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 274% against the previous year.

Commercial Printing Exports in Ukraine

Overall, exports saw a dramatic decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 8.4% against the previous year.

In value terms, commercial printing exports shrank sharply to $28M in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a precipitous decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 22%.
