Commercial Printing Price in France (CIF) - 2023

In June 2023, the average commercial printing import price amounted to $6,218 per ton, increasing by 6.2% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a perceptible expansion from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, commercial printing import price increased by +56.5% against October 2022 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 15% m-o-m. The import price peaked in June 2023.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($17,455 per ton), while the price for Romania ($3,854 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, export price indicated a modest expansion from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, commercial printing export price decreased by -7.7% against April 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 21% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $13,594 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($21,295 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($5,360 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Morocco (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, imports of commercial printing (except screen and books) into France declined to 628K tons, falling by -12.4% against 2021 figures. Overall, imports showed a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 14%.
