Cocoa Powder Price in Hong Kong SAR (CIF) - 2023
The average cocoa powder import price stood at $4,400 per ton in June 2023, picking up by 16% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a tangible increase from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, cocoa powder import price decreased by -15.5% against April 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 37% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $5,976 per ton. From February 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($8,353 per ton), while the price for Singapore ($3,936 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cocoa Powder Price in Hong Kong SAR (FOB) - 2022
The average cocoa powder export price stood at $3,535 per ton in 2022, rising by 5.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the average export price increased by 69% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $7,617 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Macao SAR (-2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
