Cocoa Butter Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2023

The average cocoa butter import price stood at $4,812 per ton in August 2023, declining by -17.5% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 12% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $5,835 per ton in July 2023, and then declined sharply in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($5,630 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,135 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Cocoa Butter Price in Croatia (FOB) - 2022

The average cocoa butter export price stood at $4,967 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 6.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a noticeable reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 81%. The export price peaked at $9,658 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Montenegro ($14,296 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($1,392 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+19.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Cocoa Butter Imports in Croatia

In 2022, the amount of cocoa butter imported into Croatia fell to 1.8K tons, reducing by -12.9% against 2021. In general, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +38.2% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 59%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 2.1K tons, and then fell in the following year.

In value terms, cocoa butter imports fell significantly to $8.3M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 44%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $12M, and then contracted markedly in the following year.

Cocoa Butter Exports in Croatia

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of cocoa butter, when their volume decreased by -93% to 2.1 tons. Overall, exports, however, saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 555%.

In value terms, cocoa butter exports shrank notably to $11K in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 381% against the previous year.
