Chlorides Price in India (FOB) - 2023
The average chlorides export price stood at $437 per ton in July 2023, falling by -6.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 20% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $594 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,243 per ton), while the average price for exports to Oman ($132 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Chlorides Price in India (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average chlorides import price amounted to $616 per ton, surging by 2.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 13% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $1,287 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($2,889 per ton), while the price for Lithuania ($297 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+8.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Chlorides Exports in India
In 2022, shipments abroad of chlorides (excluding ammonium chloride) decreased by -23.3% to 168K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, exports continue to indicate a perceptible slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 15%.
In value terms, chlorides exports plummeted to $86M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a noticeable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +13.7% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 34% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $114M, and then fell sharply in the following year.

Chlorides Imports in India
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of chlorides (excluding ammonium chloride) decreased by -83.7% to 13K tons in 2022. In general, imports recorded a dramatic contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 6%.
In value terms, chlorides imports declined markedly to $8.2M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports faced a precipitous decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 19% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $49M, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.
