The average chlorides; of aluminium import price stood at $452 per ton in 2022, which is down by -4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a mild decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 12%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $578 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,283 per ton), while the price for India ($299 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average chlorides; of aluminium export price amounted to $812 per ton, increasing by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In 2022, the amount of chlorides; of aluminia exported from Iran fell remarkably to 36 tons, waning by -28.8% on the previous year. In general, exports recorded a noticeable contraction. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 50 tons, and then fell remarkably in the following year.
