Chipped Non-Coniferous Wood Price in Cameroon (CIF) - 2022
The average chipped non-coniferous wood import price stood at $211 per cubic meter in 2022, falling by -70.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the average import price increased by 664% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $725 per cubic meter in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($285 per cubic meter), while the price for Belgium ($2 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+23.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2021, the average chipped non-coniferous wood export price amounted to $22 per cubic meter, approximately reflecting the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a precipitous slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 204%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $511 per cubic meter. From 2015 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($34 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Central African Republic stood at $21 per cubic meter.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ireland (-46.5%).
Chipped Non-Coniferous Wood Imports in Cameroon
For the fourth year in a row, Cameroon recorded growth in overseas purchases of non-coniferous wood in chips or particles, which increased by 225% to 13 cubic meters in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded significant growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, chipped non-coniferous wood imports fell modestly to $2.7K in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 9.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $2.9K in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
