Chewing Gum Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
The average chewing gum export price stood at $3,967 per ton in July 2023, remaining stable against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 6.5% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $4,248 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Italy ($6,749 per ton), while the average price for exports to Egypt ($3,125 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Chewing Gum Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
The average chewing gum import price stood at $6,798 per ton in July 2023, with an increase of 28% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a slight setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 123% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $11,966 per ton. From May 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Poland ($27,837 per ton), while the price for China ($1,306 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Chewing Gum Exports in Turkey
In 2022, approx. 16K tons of chewing gum were exported from Turkey; reducing by -40.9% compared with the previous year. In general, exports, however, recorded a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 131% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 28K tons, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
In value terms, chewing gum exports declined dramatically to $59M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 127% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $89M, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

Chewing Gum Imports in Turkey
In 2022, overseas purchases of chewing gum increased by 39% to 217 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, showed a deep reduction.
In value terms, chewing gum imports shrank slightly to $1.2M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, faced a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 19%.
