The average cereals; barley, seed export price stood at $244 per ton in July 2023, with a decrease of -10.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a pronounced downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2022 when the average export price increased by 30% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $441 per ton. From September 2022 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($243 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany stood at $216 per ton.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ireland (-1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 48%. The import price peaked at $337 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($375 per ton), while the price for Sweden ($155 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
