Ceramic Tile Price in Panama (CIF) - 2023

In July 2023, the average ceramic tile import price amounted to $11.1 per square meter, approximately mirroring the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 5.4% against the previous month. The import price peaked in July 2023.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Italy ($13.6 per square meter) and Spain ($12.3 per square meter), while the price for Costa Rica ($9.4 per square meter) and Hong Kong SAR ($9.4 per square meter) were amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ecuador (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average ceramic tile export price amounted to $4 per square meter, falling by -1.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 25%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $8.3 per square meter in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Antigua and Barbuda ($11 per square meter), while the average price for exports to Aruba ($3.1 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cuba (+16.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of ceramic tiles imported into Panama declined notably to 8.3M square meters, waning by -27.5% against 2021 figures. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 122% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 12M square meters, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, ceramic tile imports skyrocketed to $84M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a significant expansion.
