Candied Fruit Price in Canada (CIF) - 2023

In June 2023, the average candied fruit import price amounted to $4,054 per ton, surging by 47% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a modest expansion from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, candied fruit import price increased by +92.4% against April 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 60% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,669 per ton. From April 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Fiji ($5,960 per ton), while the price for the Philippines ($2,617 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Candied Fruit Price in Canada (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average candied fruit export price amounted to $4,621 per ton, surging by 9% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, candied fruit export price increased by +96.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 80% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $5,419 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($5,856 per ton), while the average price for exports to Saint Kitts and Nevis ($1,906 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+8.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Candied Fruit Imports in Canada

Candied fruit imports into Canada contracted notably to 1.8K tons in 2022, falling by -18.8% against 2021. In general, imports showed a perceptible reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 33%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 2.2K tons, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

In value terms, candied fruit imports fell to $5.4M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 23%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $6M, and then dropped in the following year.
