Candied Fruit Price in Argentina (CIF) - 2022

The average candied fruit import price stood at $2,175 per ton in 2022, surging by 16% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 21%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,836 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($3,846 per ton), while the price for India ($1,509 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Paraguay (+12.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Candied Fruit Price in Argentina (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average candied fruit export price amounted to $1,885 per ton, declining by -3.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 14% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $2,136 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($5,802 per ton), while the average price for exports to Panama ($533 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+11.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Candied Fruit Imports in Argentina

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of candied fruits decreased by -20% to 2.4K tons in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +18.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +66.1% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 56%.

In value terms, candied fruit imports fell to $5.2M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 53% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $5.6M, and then reduced in the following year.
