Camping Equipment Price in Vietnam (FOB) - 2022

The average camping equipment export price stood at $9,966 per ton in December 2022, leveling off at the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 an increase of 0.7% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $10,113 per ton in December 2021; however, from January 2022 to December 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In December 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices to Canada ($10,091 per ton) and Germany ($10,086 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($9,118 per ton) and the United States ($9,937 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Camping Equipment Price in Vietnam (CIF) - 2022

In December 2022, the average camping equipment import price amounted to $19,403 per ton, rising by 82% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a strong increase from December 2021 to December 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.8% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2022 figures, camping equipment import price increased by +82.9% against October 2022 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was France ($103K per ton), while the price for Israel ($7,497 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Camping Equipment Exports in Vietnam

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of camping goods, when their volume decreased by -15.6% to 14K tons. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 76%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 17K tons, and then contracted notably in the following year.

In value terms, camping equipment exports reduced notably to $161M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +58.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 61% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $192M, and then declined significantly in the following year.

Camping Equipment Imports in Vietnam

In 2022, camping equipment imports into Vietnam expanded notably to 4K tons, picking up by 6.6% against 2021 figures. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 23% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 4.1K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, camping equipment imports contracted modestly to $24M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +10.6% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 25% against the previous year.
