Imports into Austria increased at an average annual rate of +8.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Slovakia (+45.7%), Spain (+28.4%), Romania (+26.1%), Qatar (+19.8%), the United States (+1.6%) and Italy (+1.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Slovakia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +45.7% from 2012-2022. By contrast, China (-3.5%), Belgium (-4.5%), Switzerland (-4.8%), Thailand (-5.2%), Taiwan (Chinese) (-5.2%) and Germany (-7.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Austria (+15 p.p.), Spain (+4.6 p.p.), Slovakia (+4 p.p.), Romania (+2.3 p.p.) and Qatar (+1.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global imports from 2012-2022, the share of Taiwan (Chinese) (-1.7 p.p.), Thailand (-1.8 p.p.), China (-1.8 p.p.), Belgium (-3.1 p.p.), Switzerland (-4 p.p.) and Germany (-12.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($92M) constitutes the largest market for imported cylinders for calendering worldwide, comprising 22% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($38M), with an 8.8% share of global imports. It was followed by Austria, with an 8.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in China totaled +7.1%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-5.3% per year) and Austria (+3.1% per year).
