Bread and Bakery Price in Iran (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average bread and bakery export price amounted to $1,067 per ton, falling by -2.4% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 43%. The export price peaked at $1,225 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,663 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cote d'Ivoire ($651 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Yemen (+13.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Bread and Bakery Price in Iran (CIF) - 2022

The average bread and bakery import price stood at $2,503 per ton in 2022, dropping by -8.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 19%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,743 per ton, and then shrank in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($5,672 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($2,170 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Armenia (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Bread and Bakery Exports in Iran

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in shipments abroad of bread and bakery, when their volume decreased by -4% to 15K tons. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 12%.

In value terms, bread and bakery exports shrank to $16M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 14% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $17M, and then dropped in the following year.
