Beet-Pulp and Bagasse Price in Serbia (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average beet-pulp and bagasse export price amounted to $321 per ton, rising by 7% against the previous month. Over the period from December 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 16% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $361 per ton. From March 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was North Macedonia ($383 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($33.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Oman (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Beet-Pulp and Bagasse Price in Serbia (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average beet-pulp and bagasse import price amounted to $481 per ton, shrinking by -25.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 89% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $650 per ton, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Greece ($540 per ton), while the price for Hungary amounted to $381 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Greece (+39.1%).
Beet-Pulp and Bagasse Exports in Serbia
In 2022, shipments abroad of beet-pulp and bagasse decreased by -4.4% to 77K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 91K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, beet-pulp and bagasse exports surged to $20M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +61.1% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 30%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
