Beer Price in Slovakia (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average beer import price amounted to $618 per thousand litres, waning by -7.7% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 14% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $695 per thousand litres in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($1.1 per litre), while the price for Slovenia ($319 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Beer Price in Slovakia (FOB) - 2023
The average beer export price stood at $767 per thousand litres in July 2023, falling by -5.6% against the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.0%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 20% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $853 per thousand litres in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($1.0 per litre), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($611 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Beer Imports in Slovakia
In 2022, approx. 152M litres of beer were imported into Slovakia; rising by 8.3% compared with the previous year. In general, imports, however, recorded a noticeable downturn. Imports peaked at 172M litres in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, beer imports dropped to $78M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 6.9% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $84M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Beer Exports in Slovakia
In 2022, approx. 37M litres of beer were exported from Slovakia; growing by 65% against 2021. Overall, exports posted a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 298%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, beer exports soared to $18M in 2022. In general, exports enjoyed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 225% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $18M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
