Bed Linen Price in the Netherlands (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average bed linen import price amounted to $8,590 per ton, rising by 8.5% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Belgium ($11,685 per ton) and Germany ($10,812 per ton), while the price for Pakistan ($7,828 per ton) and Turkey ($8,282 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Bed Linen Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2022
The average bed linen export price stood at $6,919 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -4.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a mild contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by 17% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $9,712 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($10,146 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($4,734 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+9.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Bed Linen Imports in the Netherlands
In 2022, purchases abroad of bed linen decreased by -22.8% to 51K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the last three years. Over the period under review, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +11.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +37.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 42%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $520M, and then reduced notably in the following year.
