Artificial Graphite Price in Germany (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average artificial graphite export price amounted to $4,563 per ton, rising by 20% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a notable expansion from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.8% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, artificial graphite export price increased by +47.3% against April 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 52% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure in June 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($19,258 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($1,334 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, import price indicated a measured expansion from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.1% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, artificial graphite import price increased by +33.9% against May 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 49% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $4,242 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($41,332 per ton), while the price for Romania ($373 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In value terms, artificial graphite exports soared to $135M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +57.7% against 2019 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
