Aromatic Alcohols Price in Brazil (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average aromatic alcohols import price amounted to $3,373 per ton, rising by 11% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a mild reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 31% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $4,542 per ton in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($7,158 per ton), while the price for India ($2,208 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+7.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Aromatic Alcohols Price in Brazil (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average aromatic alcohols export price amounted to $11,106 per ton, increasing by 55% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 148% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($52,606 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ghana ($6,835 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+13.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Aromatic Alcohols Imports in Brazil
For the fourth year in a row, Brazil recorded growth in overseas purchases of aromatic alcohols and their derivatives, which increased by 36% to 7.1K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +49.6% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
