In March 2022, the average argon import price amounted to $290 per thousand cubic meters, falling by -18.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2021 when the average import price increased by 55% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $0.7 per cubic meter. From November 2021 to March 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Russia amounted to 0.0% per month.
Argon Price in Belarus (FOB) - 2022
The average argon export price stood at $800 per thousand cubic meters in March 2022, declining by -16.7% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a perceptible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2021 an increase of 140% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1.4 per cubic meter. From November 2021 to March 2022, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($1.0 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Russia ($529 per thousand cubic meters) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
