Acyclic Hydrocarbons Derivatives Price in Switzerland (CIF) - 2021

In December 2021, the average acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives import price amounted to $11,720 per ton, growing by 35% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a temperate expansion from December 2020 to December 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.1% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives import price increased by +34.9% against November 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2021 when the average import price increased by 76% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $17,278 per ton. From August 2021 to December 2021, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($78,610 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($7,281 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+24.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Acyclic Hydrocarbons Derivatives Price in Switzerland (FOB) - 2022

The average acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives export price stood at $24,699 per ton in 2022, declining by -35% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 89% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $41,140 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($69,111 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($1,827 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uganda (+38.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Acyclic Hydrocarbons Derivatives Imports in Switzerland

In 2022, the amount of fluorinated, brominated or iodinated derivatives of acyclic hydrocarbons imported into Switzerland rose slightly to 1.6K tons, growing by 2.3% against the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.6% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 46% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.9K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives imports stood at $17M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -7.8% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 76% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $18M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

For the third consecutive year, Switzerland recorded decline in shipments abroad of fluorinated, brominated or iodinated derivatives of acyclic hydrocarbons, which decreased by -87.8% to 31 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a sharp contraction. The smallest decline of -21.5% was in 2021.

In value terms, acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives exports contracted markedly to $776K in 2022. Overall, exports faced a dramatic curtailment. The smallest decline of -15% was in 2020.
