Overall, cash register imports continue to indicate a temperate reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014, an increase of 8% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, global cash register imports reached its maximum volume of 93K tonnes in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

In value terms, cash register imports amounted to $4.9B in 2016. Overall, cash register imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, global cash register imports reached its maximum level of $5B in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Cash Register Imports By Country

The imports of the twelve major importers of cash register, namely Germany, the UK, Nigeria, China, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Australia, Angola, Indonesia, and Brazil, represented more than half of total import.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of cash register imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by Angola (+31.9% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the UK ($332M), Germany ($257M) and Japan ($224M) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, with a combined 17% share of global imports. These countries were followed by Australia, Italy, China, Hong Kong SAR, France, Indonesia, the Netherlands, Brazil, Nigeria and Angola, which together accounted for a further 19%.

Indonesia (+27.3% per year) had the highest rates of growth with regard to the cash register imports, among the main importing countries, over the last 9 year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Cash Register Import Prices By Country

In 2016, the average import price for cash register amounted to $66 per kg, declining by ;3.0% against the previous year. Over the period from 2007 to 2016 it increased at an average annual rate of +2.6%.The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015, when import increased by 19% year;to;year. In that year, average cash register import price reached its maximum level of $68 per kg, falling back in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst major importing countries. In 2016, the country with the highest import prices was Australia ($91 per kg), while Angola ($1,521 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of cash register import prices was attained by Indonesia (+24.0% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

China (2.2M tonnes) ranks second globally in caustic soda imports with a 7% share, following Brazil (5%), and the Netherlands (5%). The following importers - Japan (1.5M tonnes), Saudi Arabia (1.2M tonnes), Belgium (1.2M tonnes), France (807K tonnes), South Korea (766K tonnes), Finland (764K tonnes), and Sweden (671K tonnes) together made up 21% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of caustic soda imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by the Netherlands (+8.3% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest caustic soda markets worldwide were Australia ($653M), Brazil ($331M) and the U.S. ($253M), with a combined 25% share of global imports.
