Which Country Exports the Most Combine Harvester-Threshers in the World?

In 2016, approx. 2.1M tonnes of combine harvester were exported worldwide; surging by 4% against the previous year figure. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the period from 2007 to 2016; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations over the period under review. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011, an increase of 25% against the previous year level. Global combine harvester export peaked of 2.4M tonnes in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

In value terms, combine harvester exports amounted to $17B in 2016. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the period from 2007 to 2016; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations in certain years. Over the period under review, global combine harvester exports attained its maximum level of $21B in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Combine Harvester Exports By Country

The countries with the highest levels of combine harvester exports in 2016 were the U.S. (329K tonnes), Germany (298K tonnes), and China (223K tonnes), together recording 41% of total export. Italy (134K tonnes) ranks second globally in combine harvester exports with a 7% share, following Belgium (6%), France (5%), and Poland (5%). The following exporters - the Netherlands (71K tonnes), Hungary (67K tonnes), Czech Republic (57K tonnes), the UK (51K tonnes), and Belarus (46K tonnes) together made up 14% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of combine harvester exports, among the main exporting countries, was attained by China (+9.5% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest combine harvester markets worldwide were Germany ($3.2B), the U.S. ($2.9B) and China ($1.5B), with a combined 44% share of global exports.

China (+11.1% per year) had the highest rates of growth with regard to the combine harvester exports, in terms of the main exporting countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Combine Harvester Export Prices By Country

The average combine harvester export price stood at $8,488 per tonne in 2016, declining by -4.6% against the previous year. Overall, combine harvester export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014, when export increased by 9% year-to-year. In that year, average combine harvester export price reached its maximum level of $9,552 per tonne. From 2015 to 2016, growth of average combine harvester export price stood at a somewhat lower level.

There were significant differences in the average export prices amongst major exporting countries. In 2016, the country with the highest export prices was the Netherlands ($12 per kg), while Belarus ($3,665 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of combine harvester export prices was attained by China (+1.4% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
