In 2016, approx. X tonnes of baryte were imported worldwide- lowering by -X% against the previous year figure. In general, baryte imports continue to indicate a moderate reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015, when import increased by X% against the previous year level. Global baryte import peaked of X tonnes in 2007- however, from 2008 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.
In value terms, baryte imports totaled $X in 2016. Overall, it indicated a moderate growth from 2007 to 2016: the total imports value decreased at an average annual rate of -X% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, baryte imports decreased by -X% against its level of 2014. Over the period under review, global baryte imports attained its maximum level of $X in 2014- however, from 2015 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

Baryte Imports By Country
China (X tonnes) represented the largest importing country with an import of around X tonnes, which accounted for X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Saudi Arabia (X tonnes), generating X% share of total baryte imports. The following importers - Turkey (X tonnes), Kuwait (X tonnes), the Netherlands (X tonnes), Algeria (X tonnes), United Arab Emirates (X tonnes), Viet Nam (X tonnes), Germany (X tonnes), and Italy (X tonnes) together made up X% of total imports.
China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, Kuwait (+X%), Saudi Arabia (+X%), Algeria (+X%), United Arab Emirates (+X%), Turkey (+X%), Italy (+X%), and Viet Nam (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kuwait emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2016. By contrast, the Netherlands (-X%), and Germany (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Germany (X%) increased significantly, the share of Kuwait (-X%), and Saudi Arabia (-X%) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Saudi Arabia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported baryte worldwide, making up X% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Germany ($X), with the share of X% of global imports. It was followed by Italy, with the share of X%.
From 2007 to 2016, the average annual growth rate of value of baryte imports in Saudi Arabia stood at +X%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Germany (-X% per year) and Italy (+X% per year).
Baryte Import Prices By Country
The average baryte import price stood at $X per tonne in 2016, remaining stable against the previous year level. Overall, it indicated a prominent expansion from 2007 to 2016: the import price value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, baryte import price decreased by -X% against its level of 2014. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008, when import price increased by X% from the previous year level. Global baryte import peaked of $X per tonne in 2014- however, from 2015 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.
Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was Germany ($X per tonne), while China ($X per kg) was among the lowest.
From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of baryte import prices was attained by Viet Nam (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
