According to a report from AgTechnavigator, a UK-based company called Tropic has secured $105 million in a Series C funding round that exceeded its initial targets. The financing was jointly led by the Forbion Bioeconomy Fund and Corteva Agriscience's investment arm, with participation from several other financial and impact investment groups. New representatives from the lead investors will join the company's board.

Commercial Products Drive Expansion

The capital injection follows a period of significant commercial progress for the company in the previous year. It successfully introduced the first new commercial banana varieties in over seven decades, featuring traits such as resistance to browning and a longer shelf life.
