SKF to Acquire Taiwanese Condition Monitoring Firm G-Tech Instruments

SKF has signed an agreement to acquire G-Tech Instruments, a Taiwanese specialist within condition monitoring and measuring instruments technology. The Swedish company says the acquisition is a key step in leveraging digitally enabled reliability solutions to strengthen its end-user and aftermarket presence.

The acquisition aims to bolster SKF's condition monitoring portfolio, one of three priority areas within its service business. G-Tech's advanced diagnostic solutions complement SKF's current portfolio, enabling the development of an integrated ecosystem designed to help customers detect issues early and plan proactive maintenance.

SKF's president and chief executive stated that the transaction aligns with a strategy of pursuing growth through complementary mergers and acquisitions. He noted it reinforces the company's aim to expand its service business with intelligent solutions.

G-Tech, founded in 1998 and headquartered in Taiwan, has 50 employees. The company reported sales of approximately US$10m in 2025. It possesses intellectual property related to vibration analyzers, diagnostic tools, and condition monitoring systems. SKF anticipates the deal will be completed within six months and expects it to provide new business opportunities in Asia and support future product development.
