Scrap Metal Prices Decline Across Copper, Aluminum, and Brass Categories

According to the Daily Scrap Metal Price Report, a broad range of scrap metal prices moved lower in recent trading. Copper grades saw varied decreases, with prices for #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, #1 Copper Bare Bright, and #3 Copper-Light Copper each falling by seven cents per pound. Several insulated copper wire and radiator scrap categories declined by one cent per pound.

Aluminum scrap prices also edged down across multiple categories. Prices for 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels, and 6063 Extrusions all decreased by one cent per pound. Specific grades like 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions saw declines of two cents and one cent per pound, respectively. Other aluminum products, including E.C Aluminum Wire, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, and various prepared grades like Old Cast and UBC, also reported one-cent-per-pound drops.

In the brass and bronze segment, prices in the North American region reported a slight overall decline. While Brass Radiator categories held steady, Red Brass, Red Borings, and Yellow Brass prices each decreased by one cent per pound. Meanwhile, steel and stainless steel scrap prices were largely unchanged, with categories like Shredded Auto Scrap, Structural Steel, and various stainless grades holding steady. The report notes that most observed price declines were modest and may indicate softer demand or cautious buying activity in key scrap markets.
