SailPoint Stock Drops 15% After 2026 Earnings and 2027 Forecast

According to a report from Yahoo Finance, SailPoint stock experienced a significant drop in value during trading. The identity security company's share price fell by over 15% in a single session after investors reacted negatively to its latest financial results.

The company released its final earnings report for fiscal 2026. It disclosed fourth-quarter revenue of $295 million, which represents a 23% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. For the full fiscal year, the company's annual recurring revenue grew 28% to approximately $1.13 billion, surpassing the $1 billion threshold.

However, the company's non-GAAP net income saw a substantial decline in the fourth quarter, falling to just under $47 million from a much higher figure in the fourth quarter of the prior fiscal year. On a per-share basis, this non-GAAP net income was $0.08. The reported revenue slightly exceeded average analyst projections, while the per-share profit figure matched analyst expectations.

The company cited rapid growth in artificial intelligence as a driver for its gains in recurring revenue and total revenue, stating that this trend increases the need for corporate identity security.

Investor sentiment appeared to be influenced more by the company's future projections than its past performance. For the current fiscal year 2027, SailPoint anticipates its annual recurring revenue will reach a range between nearly $1.36 billion and almost $1.37 billion. This projected increase of roughly 21% is notably lower than the 28% growth achieved in the just-completed fiscal year.

Similarly, total revenue for fiscal 2027 is expected to grow by up to 19%, a slowdown from the 24% improvement recorded in fiscal 2026. The company's revenue guidance also came in below the average analyst estimate for the year.
