Public Companies Expand Crypto Treasuries to Ethereum, Holding $16B

Publicly traded companies have expanded their crypto treasury strategies beyond Bitcoin to include assets like Ethereum. This shift is being championed by figures including Fundstrat's Tom Lee and Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin.

Major Public Holders

Public entities with Ethereum treasuries maintain more than 7.3 million ETH valued at more than $16 billion, as of this writing, and over 6% of the entire supply.

BitMine Immersion Technologies

Led by Tom Lee, BitMine Immersion Technologies entered the scene in late July 2025 with plans for an Ethereum treasury. The firm, formerly focused on Bitcoin mining, first secured a $250 million private investment in public equity round to begin purchases. It has since acquired 4,595,562 ETH, worth approximately $10 billion, making it the second-largest crypto treasury of any kind. The firm aims to hold 5% of the circulating ETH supply and currently holds around 3.8%. Despite weekly purchases, the firm sits on unrealized losses of more than $7 billion. After planning a $4.5 billion raise, the company upsized its offering by $20 billion in August to expand its holdings.

Sharplink

Sharplink, formerly SharpLink Gaming, holds the second-largest publicly traded ETH treasury. The company maintains 869,154 ETH, valued at $1.86 billion, which is about 87% of its initial goal to accumulate 1 million ETH.
