Onyx Security Launches AI Security Platform After $40M Funding Round

According to Reuters, the Israeli cybersecurity company Onyx Security has officially begun operations after receiving an initial investment of $40 million. The launch indicates sustained investor confidence in Israel's technology industry.

The country's tech sector is considered one of the world's largest, contributing approximately 20% to national economic output, 15% of employment, and over half of all exports. Cybersecurity is noted as a rapidly expanding part of this sector.

Onyx Security has created a platform designed to secure and manage artificial intelligence agents. The company had been operating without public visibility for the past eighteen months and reports it is already engaged with several Fortune 500 corporations. The firm's leadership includes a co-founder who previously served in an Israeli military intelligence unit.

The company stated that the investment round was spearheaded by the venture capital firms Conviction Partners and Cyberstarts, alongside a collection of angel investors. Onyx Security plans to allocate the capital toward growing its product and engineering departments and advancing new AI models.

This development follows another significant transaction in the Israeli cybersecurity landscape, where a major technology corporation finalized a multi-billion dollar acquisition of the firm Wiz. Despite regional hostilities, Israeli technology startups collectively raised around $16 billion in 2025, an increase from the previous year's total.
