Nebius Group Stock Surges 15% on $12 Billion Meta AI Cloud Contract

According to a report from Yahoo Finance, shares of Nebius Group saw a significant increase in value on March 16. The stock price rose 15% after news surfaced that Meta Platforms had awarded a substantial contract to the cloud infrastructure provider. Nebius stock has already advanced 47% since the start of the year.

Contract details and revenue impact

The agreement with Meta involves the purchase of AI cloud computing capacity valued at $12 billion over five years. This capacity will be powered by Nvidia processors. Deployment is scheduled to begin early next year. Meta has also committed to an additional $15 billion in data center capacity over the same period, which Nebius currently intends to sell to other customers, with Meta prepared to purchase any surplus.

This new contract follows a previous five-year, $3 billion agreement signed with Meta in December 2025. Furthermore, Nebius secured a separate five-year contract with Microsoft in September of last year, with a value of up to $19.4 billion.

Combining these agreements, the company's total revenue backlog for the period from 2027 to 2031 is estimated to be close to $50 billion. This figure is notably large relative to the company's reported revenue for 2025, which was $530 million.

Capacity expansion to support growth

Nebius is actively expanding its data center infrastructure to fulfill these commitments. The company estimates its active data center capacity will reach between 800 megawatts and 1 gigawatt by the end of this year. This represents a substantial increase from the 170 megawatts of active capacity reported at the end of 2025.

Additionally, the company's contracted data center power capacity, referring to electricity it has agreed to purchase from utilities, could surpass 3 gigawatts by the end of the year.
