According to the Baltic Exchange, the spot market for liquefied natural gas saw rates decrease across all major trade routes. A larger number of available vessels and a reduction in cargo shipments contributed to lower earnings.

For the route from Australia to Japan, daily earnings for a standard vessel size fell by over thirty thousand dollars to reach one hundred fifty-eight thousand dollars. This decline indicated a cooling Pacific market following earlier peaks. Routes originating from the US Gulf to both the Continent and Japan also recorded significant drops in daily earnings, reflecting improved vessel availability and softer Atlantic basin conditions.

Charter rates for longer periods also moved downward. The rate for a six-month charter fell by over forty-one thousand dollars, while one-year and three-year terms saw more moderate decreases. These shifts suggested a more cautious perspective on future market conditions as activity receded from recent highs.

In the liquefied petroleum gas sector, market sentiment was varied after a brief pause in activity. The Atlantic market showed initial weakness before stabilizing with renewed inquiries. Key routes from the Middle East to Japan and from the US Gulf to both the US Northeast and Japan settled at specific index levels, with associated daily earnings reflecting a week of volatility and recovery.
