Recent developments in the urban transport sector include new vehicle deliveries, major project procurements, and international agreements, according to a report from Railway Gazette. Modertrans Poznan has revealed the initial unit from a fleet of ten bidirectional trams ordered last year for a Polish operator, featuring passenger amenities including charging ports and a total capacity for 90 people.

In Ireland, procurement has commenced for two primary design and build packages for an automated metro line in Dublin. The contracts are divided into southern and northern sections, and while applicants may bid for both, they will be awarded only one of the lots following a detailed tender process.

A framework agreement for a new electrified commuter railway in Paraguay was signed by the presidents of Paraguay and the United Arab Emirates. The project involves a three-decade concession for a company to be formed by the national railways of both nations, with construction scheduled to start in early 2027 and conclude by 2030. The Paraguayan industry minister highlighted the project's use of domestic renewable energy resources.

A pre-qualification conference for a large-scale metro program in Tel Aviv attracted participation from numerous companies globally at the end of February. The program involves three lines with extensive tunneling and over one hundred stations.
