Loudspeaker Price in Germany Reduces to $1.7 per Unit, Fluctuating Wildly over 2022

Germany Loudspeaker Import Price in October 2022

In October 2022, the loudspeaker price stood at $1.7 per unit (CIF, Germany), dropping by -2.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a modest expansion from January 2022 to October 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3% over the last nine months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2022 figures, loudspeaker import price decreased by -12.8% against July 2022 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2022 when the average import price increased by 55% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2.9 per unit. From May 2022 to October 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($3.3 per unit), while the price for the Czech Republic ($0.7 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to October 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Germany Loudspeaker Imports

Loudspeaker imports into Germany skyrocketed to 20M units in October 2022, jumping by 18% on the previous month's figure. The total import volume increased at an average monthly rate of +2.5% from January 2022 to October 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, loudspeaker imports surged to $34M (IndexBox estimates) in October 2022. In general, total imports indicated a tangible expansion from January 2022 to October 2022: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +3.9% over the last nine months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2022 figures, imports increased by +39.1% against August 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 with an increase of 47% month-to-month. As a result, imports attained the peak of $39M. From May 2022 to October 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Germany Loudspeaker Imports by Country

In October 2022, China (8.5M units) constituted the largest loudspeaker supplier to Germany, with a 44% share of total imports. Moreover, loudspeaker imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (2.3M units), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Poland (2.2M units), with an 11% share.

From January 2022 to October 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+2.1% per month) and Poland (+10.9% per month).

In value terms, China ($8.4M), the Netherlands ($5.7M) and Poland ($5.2M) were the largest loudspeaker suppliers to Germany, with a combined 57% share of total imports.

Poland, with a CAGR of +9.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
