Electrolux Recalls Over 174,000 Frigidaire Gas Ranges for Burn Hazard

Electrolux Group has initiated a recall of more than 174,000 Frigidaire gas ranges, according to a report from Fox Business. The Consumer Product Safety Commission states the recall involves approximately 169,500 units sold in the United States and an additional 5,300 units in Canada.

The agency identified a problem with the oven's bake burner, which can experience a delayed ignition. This malfunction presents a burn hazard to consumers.

The recall covers Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery, and Frigidaire Professional gas range models. Affected units have serial numbers falling within a specific range, which is printed on a nameplate located inside the drawer beneath the oven.

The CPSC advises consumers to immediately cease using the oven function of the recalled ranges. They should contact Electrolux for a free in-home installation of a replacement bake burner. The cooktop burners on these ranges are not affected and may continue to be used.
