Ecolab to Acquire Liquid Cooling Firm CoolIT Systems for $4.75 Billion

According to a Reuters report, water and hygiene solutions provider Ecolab has announced an agreement to purchase CoolIT Systems. The acquisition of the liquid cooling technology company, which is being sold by investment firm KKR, involves a cash transaction valued at $4.75 billion.

The move occurs amid a broader trend of industry consolidation driven by high demand for data center infrastructure. Companies are seeking to expand their capabilities to address growing requirements for power and specialized cooling solutions.

Ecolab anticipates the transaction will be finalized during the third quarter of 2026. The company forecasts that the deal will contribute positively to its adjusted diluted earnings per share by the year 2028.
