Conagra Brands is allocating a substantial investment to expand a chicken production facility in Arkansas, according to a report from Food Dive. The company aims to bolster its frozen foods segment with a focus on protein offerings.

The Fayetteville plant manufactures ready-to-eat meals for several of the company's brands. Its current output is approximately 15 million cases annually. The planned construction phase is scheduled to start later in the current year.

This multi-year financial commitment is projected to generate over 100 new positions. Company leadership stated the move will facilitate continued growth in its frozen foods operations and enhance innovation within the supply chain.

The decision aligns with broader consumer trends showing increased reliance on frozen items for protein. Industry analysis indicates the frozen retail section is a primary destination for high-protein foods, representing a multi-billion dollar annual market. Within this category, volumes for high-protein frozen items have risen notably, with chicken and turkey products showing strong performance.
